13. Астраханский государственный объединенный историко-архитектурный музей-заповедник

Астраханский государственный объединенный историко-архитектурный музей-заповедник — старейший из региональных музеев России. В декабре 1837 года, по решению астраханского губернатора Ивана Семёновича Тимирязева был открыт «Губернский музеум». В нём были собраны разнообразные коллекции, но к сожалению в 1862 году из-за отсутствия средств на содержание, музей был закрыт, а его экспонаты были переданы на хранение в другие учреждения. В 1874 году возникает Петровское общество исследователей Астраханского края, так как срок его создания совпал с празднованием двухсотлетия со дня рождения Петра I. Члены общества вели сборы материалов о природе и истории края, выпустили ряд сборников краеведческих статей. В 1888 году обществу были переданы коллекции, ранее собранные губернским статистическим комитетом. Городская управа отвела помещение для показа экспонатов.
В 1897 году состоялось официальное открытие Астраханского Петровского музея. В 1911 г. его экспозиции были размещены в новом здании «Городских учреждений», где они и располагаются до настоящего времени.
В 1974 году музею был передан Астраханский кремль, ставший основой созданного распоряжением правительства в 1980 году музея-заповедника.
В археологической коллекции музея есть золотые и серебряные изделия савромато-сарматских времен, после выставки в музее Палаццо Венеция в Риме, она завоевала мировую известность.
Сегодня музей-заповедник включает в себя 13 филиалов, четыре из них расположены в городе Астрахани, девять — в районах области. В музее имеются реставрационные и художественные мастерские, таксидермическая лаборатория, столярная мастерская. Собрание музея насчитывает свыше 300 тысяч предметов и отличается большим разнообразием. Оно включает в себя уникальные естественно-научные коллекции – археологические, этнографические, нумизматические, таксидермические коллекции флоры и фауны, и многие другие.

The Astrakhan State United Historical and Architectural Reserve Museum is the oldest of regional museums of Russia. In December 1836 the Astrakhan governor Ivan Semenovich Timiryazev ordered the Guberniya Museum to be opened. The various collections were collected in the museum, but unfortunately in 1862, the museum was closed due to the lack of finances. In 1874 the society of regional ethnographers was established, it was called the Association of the Ethnographers of the Astrakhan Region Named after Peter the Great, as its establishment coincided with Peter the Great’s 200th anniversary. In 1888 the Association received the collections of the Guberniya Committee of Statistics. The administrative board of the city allocated the exhibit items in a special hall. In 1897 the Astrakhan Museum named after Peter the Great was officially opened. In 1911 the exhibit items were placed in a new building of “Municipal establishments”, where they have been kept up to this time. In 1974 Astrakhan Kremlin became a part of the museum. In 1980 the government decided that the Astrakhan Kremlin should become the basis of the reserve museum. There are gold and silver products in the archeological collection of the museum from the time when Sarmatians and Sauromatians ruled this territory. This exhibition became a well-known all over the world after being shown in Palazzo Venezia Museum, which is situated in Rome. Nowadays the reserve museum includes 13 branches, four of them are in Astrakhan, nine of them are in the region. There are restoration and art workshops, a taxidermy lab and a joinery in the museum. The museum collection includes over 300 thousand items and is distinguished by a great variety. It encompasses unique natural science collections – archaeological, ethnic, numismatic, taxidermy colections, collections of flora and fauna, and many others.
